Taylor, Zachary – (Born 1784; Died natural causes July 9, 1850, Virginia) Twelfth President of the United States of America, (March 5, 1849 – July 9, 1850) General known as Old Rough and Ready. Hero of the War of 1812 and the Mexican War, threatened to veto the Compromise of 1850, before being nominated for President he had never voted, his daughter married Jefferson Davis who became president of the Confederate States of America during the Civil War.
